Rotary Santa Claus Parade returning

Santa Claus is coming back to town, even earlier than expected, as part of the Rotary Santa Claus Parade on November 18th.

Organizer Dawn Sebesta says the parade will start at Superstore at 10:00 a.m., run along Memorial Avenue before arriving at The Community Auditorium.

“Where in the auditorium we will have refreshments set up and Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus will be in there and any of the children who want come in and sit on their laps are more than welcome to do that.”

Sebesta adds this year marks the 31st year of the parade, and notes a swell of support during last year’s event following a two year hiatus.

“I know people were disappointed, we saw some media stuff come through social media about people being disappointed unfortunately we didn’t have the time to prepare to get ready for it and I think that last year people were very excited to see it back.”

Groups interested in entering a float in the parade free of charge can do so here.
