NorWest Community Health Centres are hosting a drug amnesty day event with Thunder Bay Police.

Members of the community will have an opportunity to safely dispose of expired, and unused medications in a safe way.

The proper disposal of medications ensures they are not shared, misused, or dumped into our water system potentially causing water contamination.

The event welcomes you to return over-the-counter drugs, prescription medications, cough syrup/flu medications, as well as vitamins and mineral supplements.

Additionally, events like this provide an opportunity for the public to properly dispose of illegal drugs and drug paraphernalia confidentially without risk of prosecution.

The event is taking place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 525 Simpson Street.
