Maritimers came together to pledge a record-breaking amount of money to the IWK over the weekend.

The annual IWK Telethon fundraised $7,045,323.83.

This year’s Telethon theme was Stronger Than You Know, dedicated to the strength and resilience of IWK patient families.

“We are so grateful for the continued support of our community. From our donors, sponsors, organizations and individuals who actively fundraise for Telethon, to the IWK care teams and patient families, it is the community that makes Telethon a success year after year,” said Jennifer Gillivan, President & CEO, IWK Foundation.

It’s the largest annual fundraiser which airs on CTV, has been running for 39 years on the first weekend of June.

It was postponed this year due to the historic wildfires.
