Council holds the line on sewer and water increases

By Tim Davidson Sep 21, 2023 | 2:22 PM

Sewer and water rate increases will be held at 3.1 percent over the next couple of years.

Council has voted against a city administration recommendation of a 4.8 percent increase for next year.

The city wanted to increase rates to bring up the Sewer and Water Reserves to almost 600 thousand dollars over the next two years.

Instead, council agreed to keep the status quo, as it had already previously approved the 3.1 percent increase.

Council is meeting today in their second budget meeting for 2024.

The 10 year capital plan is also on the agenda.
