Weather forced the first NorWOSSA golf tournament of the season to be shortened.
High school golfers completed just nine holes at Eagle’s Landing Golf Course in Dryden on Friday.
Carter Peters of St. Thomas Aquinas in Kenora and Brady White from Rainy River tied for first in the boys’ division with rounds of 38.
James Sinclair from Beaver Brae in Kenora and Maverick Morrisseau from Fort Frances High tied for second one stroke back.
The St. Thomas Aquinas Saints topped the team standings with a combined score of 168.
The Dryden Eagles were three strokes back in second, while the Fort Frances Muskies finished third.
In the girls’ division, Logan McPherson shot a 46 to finish first and was three strokes better than teammate Marlee Bliss. Isabella Hanson from Rainy River was third.
McPherson’s and Bliss’ performances paced the Muskies team to a first-place finish.
The Dryden Eagles placed second, with the Rainy River Owls coming in third.
The next tournament will take place at Heron Landing Golf Course in Couchiching this Wednesday.
