Two youths have been charged in the attempted murder of an RCMP officer in Colchester County.
Police say early Sunday morning an off-duty officer in uniform was intentionally struck by a car in North River while attempting to question a male about a suspicious school bus parked on Hwy 311.
The officer suffered serious injuries and was transported to hospital but is now recovering at home.
Investigators determined the bus had been stolen in Sackville, New Brunswick and identified two suspects who had also allegedly broken into a North River store and stole energy drinks.
A 15-year-old male was arrested at a train station in Miramichi and a 17-year-old male was arrested in Halifax this week.
