Mounties have seized drugs and weapons after a break-in and theft in Charlotte County.

RCMP said they were called to a report of a break-in at a Saint Andrews home on Sept. 5.

Their investigation led them to a residents on Route 127 in Bayside, where police said they found many of the stolen items.

“On that same day, at approximately 3:50 p.m., members of St. George, St. Andrews, and St. Stephen RCMP detachments executed a search warrant at the residence in Bayside to recover the stolen items,” RCMP said in a news release on Friday.

“During the search, police found evidence of drug trafficking and a second warrant was authorized to search the same property under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.”

Police executed a second search warrant later that day and seized two prohibited weapons and ammunition, drug trafficking paraphernalia, and quantities of what are believed to be hydromorphone, meth and cannabis.

Seven people, including a youth, were detained at the scene and later released.

Police said their investigation is ongoing.
