Guysborough mourns passing of Honourable Lloyd Hines

The Municipality of the District of Guysborough is mourning the passing of a former Warden, Councillor, MLA and Minister who served for decades.

In a statement, the Municipality says the Honourable Lloyd Hines dedicated his life to the people of the area and served on many board and volunteer organizations over the years.

As well, in 2013 Hines “was elected to the Nova Scotia House of Assembly as a member of the Nova Scotia Liberal Party; and in 2015 was appointed to the Executive Council of Nova Scotia as Minister of Natural Resources. In 2017 he was re-elected where he served as Minister of Transportation and Infrastructure Renewal until 2021.”

Details of Hine’s death were not provided in the MODG public statement. He was 71.
