A Meteghan woman was arrested for assault.

It happened Friday night, as police got a report of a stolen firearm from a home on Second Division Road.

The 49-year old woman allegedy assaulted a 46-year old man at a home on D’Entremont Road earlier.

She was arrested on Highway 1 in Weymouth after officers setup a checkpoint in the area.

The rifle was seized, and she was taken into custody.

The woman is facing 3 counts of assault and firearms charges.
