An investigation by the Saint John Major Crime Unit and the Coroner’s Office is underway after a body was discovered along the St. John River.

Police say the body was found in the water just north of the Reversing Falls.

A fisherman reported it to police at around 1 p.m. Friday afternoon.

Forensic Services and the Coroner were called to the scene to investigate.

An autopsy will be performed.

There’s no word yet if any foul play is suspected.
