Mounties say they have made an arrest in connection with the theft of a backhoe.

RCMP said theft is believed to have happened at a business on Golden Grove Road in Saint John on Aug. 3.

Sgt. Tyson Nelson said officers located the backhoe in Sussex the same day and arrested a 34-year-old Saint John man.

Nelson said the accused was later released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court in September.

Police said the backhoe has since been returned to its rightful owner.
