A 25-year-old Nova Scotia man is facing several charges after stealing a truck and getting in a head-on collision, sending a 33-year-old woman and child from Cole Harbour to hospital with serious injuries.

Police say it was July 14 on Old Guysborough Rd when the man, driving a Ford-150, collided with a Chevrolet Equinox.

The driver of the truck was uninjured but was showing signs of being impaired by drugs.

Police say the truck was stolen from a parking lot in the Lake Echo area.

He will appear in court today.
