It looks like the Restricted Fire Zone in northwestern Ontario will be lifted later this afternoon.
Already one fire department in the region is removing it’s fire ban.
Thunder Bay Fire and Rescue says as of 4 pm burning permits will be reinstated starting at 5 pm this evening.
That because it says the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forests will be lifting the RFZ at 4 as well.
The Restricted Fire Zone has been in place for over a month, imposed on June 1st.
The fire hazard is mostly low across the region, with pockets of moderate.
