Codiac Regional RCMP need help to identify a person and vehicle of interest following a recent case of arson in Moncton.

On June 16 around 5:30 p.m., Codiac RCMP and Moncton Fire responded to a fire at a home on Elmwood Drive.

Investigators determined the fire had been intentionally set by two individuals, who drove away before police arrived.

Two people were home at the time, but there were no major injuries.

Police are releasing surveillance footage photos in hopes that someone may recognize the individual and the vehicle involved.

The first individual is described as a man wearing a face mask, a black hooded sweatshirt, black pants, and brown shoes.

Police believe there may have been a second person involved, however, a description and photo is not available at this time.

The two individuals left the scene in a 4-door white sedan with possible damage on the front bumper.

Anyone who recognizes the individual in the photo, or who has information that could help further the investigation, is asked to contact the Codiac Regional RCMP at 506-857-2400.

Information can also be provided anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), by downloading the secure P3 Mobile App, or by Secure Web Tips at www.crimenb.ca.

The New Brunswick Fire Marshal’s office is assisting with the ongoing investigation.
