Thunder Bay Police are calling the death of a woman at a Westfort home a homicide as they continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding her death.

Officers were called to a Mary Street East address just before 11:30 a.m. Tuesday where they learned the woman had been the victim of an assault had died.

Members of the Major Crimes and Forensic Identification Units are now involved in the investigation which remains ongoing.

Police are withholding the identity and age of the victim at this time.
