Sylvain Favreau passed in his resignation after six seasons, for what he says are personal reasons.

“I want to express my sincere gratitude to the entire organization. I am grateful for the support, collaboration and camaraderie I have experienced throughout my tenure with the Mooseheads,” Favreau said.

The Ontario native, joined the Team as Assistant Coach in 2017, made a record of 88-48 out of 136 games over the last two seasons as well as Maritime Division Title in 2022-2023. Favreau let to an appearance in the QMJHL’s Gilles Courteau Trophy Finals, with the second-best record in franchise history at 50-11-4-3.

“We would like to thank Sylvain for his unwavering commitment, dedication and immense contributions to the Mooseheads the last six years. We wish him the best in his future,” said Sam Simon, Chairman and Owner of the Halifax Mooseheads, and Peter Simon, President of Simon Sports.

The search for a new Head Coach begins immediately.
