By Tara Clow Jun 26, 2023 | 1:12 PM

The forecast may be calling for clouds and rain, but in Riverview, it’s bright,  because Sunfest is officially underway.

Communications Manager Ashly Barron says it’s the annual start to summer for the Town, “It’s really a way for a bunch of different groups and organizations and residents to come together and maybe try something new. We have our popular three-on-three basketball tournament, you can learn to skateboard and learn how to play cricket. There are all sorts of things so no matter what you’re into, there’s something for everyone. Whether you want something more active like pickleball or you’re more creative and want to try soap making.”

It’s the 20th year Sunfest is being held in the Town.

She adds people from all over Greater Moncton and beyond will attend the festivities.

“We see people coming from all over the region to celebrate sunsets. There are so many fun things happening that we attract people from across the bridge in Moncton and Dieppe, Hillsborough and different areas surrounding Riverview, it’s really for everyone,” Barron adds.

On Canada Day, they’ll host a cultural market with different vendors, that’ll offer things like jewelry, face painting and Ukrainian hair braiding, and much more.

Sunfest kicked off on June 24th and runs until July 1st, which is Canada Day.
