Highway 102 fully reopened as of 1:00p.m.

Highway 102 has reopened to a single lane following a single motor vehicle collision early Thursday morning which has resulted in the death of a 32 year old resident of Thunder Bay.

First responders were called to the incident just west of Mapleward Road at 3:55 a.m.

The lone occupant of the vehicle was rushed to hospital but died at the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre as a result of his injuries.

While the highway has been partially reopened, members of the Ontario Provincial Police’s Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement Unit continue to investigate.

Motorists are asked to use Highway 11/17 if possible to avoid wait times.
