The Yarmouth Mariners hit the road for Edmundston yesterday.

Many fans lined up at Mariners Centre to send them off.

Head Coach and GM Laurie Barron says that’s what it’s all about.

“It’s special being a Yarmouth Mariner, and getting to play in this town. We have great fans, and lots of support, so it’s great to see,” said Barron.

Barron told the fans that the team wants to bring something silver back with them.

The Mariners and Blizzard play Game 3 tonight at 7:30, as Yarmouth looks for a 3-0 series lead in the MHL Cup final.

Defenseman Tamy Ettaqi of Montreal says Mariner fans provide the best support.

“I’ve never felt this much support from fans. Here is the best place to be playing junior hockey. The support we’ve had this year has been awesome,” said Ettaqi.

Barron added, they’ll be ready to play in a tough building up there.

“We’re halfway home. We did our job in our own barn. We’ve been good on the road all year, we just have to go up and do our job.”

Game 4 is tomorrow night, Game 5 if necessary would be Sunday, both in Edmundston.

If needed, Games 6 and 7 would be back in Yarmouth on April 29th and 30th.
