Another year of big headliners for Wake The Giant ’23

By Katie Nicholls Mar 24, 2023 | 1:55 PM

Wake The Giant announced their lineup with more big names coming to northwestern Ontario on Sept. 16.

Bringing in more local artists like Mattmac, Sagatay, and Sara Kae, while Thunder Spirit is making their return to the stage with their drums.

Emerging Indigenous artist Ruby Waters will start the main show, followed by New York’s X Ambassadors.

The big headliner for this year is Ontario’s own Deadmau5 (pronounced dead-mouse), an electronic music producer and DJ.

As the fourth year of the Wake The Giant Festival begins, Dennis Franklin Cromarty School students will have an exceptional performance before the final act. Students are working with the local Indigenous singer, Sara Kae, on writing an original song.

The festival is an opportunity for Indigenous youth to connect and learn new skills as a cultural awareness project. The goal is to show Indigenous people that they are valuable members of the Thunder Bay community.
