It’s a tough time of year for many families and What Kids Need Moncton wants to help.

Founder Amanda Pooley says they’ll hold two open houses to provide toys and clothing to those in need this Christmas, “We used to do open houses before COVID and this is the first year that we’ve been able to do a full open house since the pandemic, so we’re very excited about it. We have a ton of stuff that we want to get to families. We have gently used toys book, stuffies, snowsuits, hats, mitts, and boots. We’re going to have an entire gym full of stuff where families will be able to come in and pick out the items that they need for their family.”

All of the items have been donated to the organization.

Pooley says everyone who has contacted them and applied for gifts for Christmas should have received an email with information about the Open Houses, “But we are hoping to reach even more families. They’ll just sign in with their name, their phone number and how many children.”

Each family will be able to make their way through the donations, choosing the items they would like to put under the tree.

“We call it shopping even though there’s no money exchanged,” Pooley says.

The open houses will be held December 10th and 17th at the First Baptist Church on Queen Street from 10 am until 3 pm. Families should go to door 2, which is closest to the gym they are in.

What Kids Need Moncton is still taking donations until December 15th.
