You can help the Yarmouth Fire Department help others.

Tomorrow night, a fundraiser is being held in the Canadian Tire parking lot on Starrs Road.

The department’s ladder truck will be lit up, and other fire apparatus will be on display.

Chief Mike Deveau says it’s important for the department to be visible.

“Kids specifically around fire prevention, if we’re out in the community, they’ll know that we’re not scary with all of our gear on, and if an emergency arises and they need our help they won’t be afraid of us,” says Deveau.

You’re encouraged to bring a donation to the Yarmouth Fuel Bank.

Deveau says it’s a worthy cause.

“From what we’ve heard, a lot of families are going to struggle with this over the winter. We’d like to be able to give support to those families.”

Tickets will be given with donations for prize draws.

The event runs from 6-8 and is for all-ages.

There will be hot chocolate and treats, and a possible surprise visit.
