Residents of northern Cape Breton are dealing with the first big snowfall of the season.
Up to 35 centimetres is expected in parts of Victoria and Inverness Counties.
Meantime, Newfoundlanders are getting ready to dig out from a similar storm.
Some crossings by Marine Atlantic between Sydney and Port Aux Basques have been cancelled.
A few schools on the island have been closed as a result of the storm.
Long line up were reported at tire shops across the province as many rush to get their tires changed.
