Rainy River District School Board meeting Sept. 2022
The Rainy River District School Board is bidding three trustees a fond farewell.
Carla Magisano, David Kircher, and chair Raymond Roy opted not to seek reelection last month.
They attended their last board meeting on Tuesday.
Director of Education Heather Campbell says Kircher was a driving force of many board initiatives introduced in the past twelve years.
“I think more important is the transparency that you’ve always pushed us to see how more transparent we can be. You’ve asked really hard questions, and sometimes those were hard questions to answer, but they were good questions,” says Campbell.
Kircher was elected a councillor for the town of Fort Frances.
Three trustees with the Rainy River District School Board attended their last meeting.
Carla Magisano, David Kircher, and Raymond Roy opted not to seek reelection.
Education Director Heather Campbell thanked Roy for his eight years on the board, the last four as chair.
“You have a really measured calmness that I also appreciate, and you always advocate for what’s best in the situation and maybe a hard decision, but what’s best for the board,” says Campbell.
Campbell says Roy’s experience in capital was invaluable, especially when advocating for a new K-12 school in Rainy River.
