The Wedgeport Legion Branch 155 is paying tribute to Queen Elizabeth II tomorrow.

Starting at noon, earl grey tea and jam sandwiches, the Queen’s favourite, will be served and all are welcome to attend.

Andre Boudreau is with the legion and says poppies will be placed on a wreath in the Queen’s honour.

“If anybody wants to come drive down, have a tea and a sandwich, have a little chat and put a poppy on there, they’re welcome. They can come from anywhere and hopefull we don’t run out of tea and jam sandwiches.”

A service similar to Remembrance Day will take place at 1:30 p.m. Legion members are asked to wear their Legion Dress to the tribute.

Boudreau says the Queen’s service meant a great deal for those in the armed forces.

“She was the sovereign for 70 years. Me, with 40 years in the military, I basically served with her all my career. Same for all of us that served in the military, we served under her because she was our commander-in-chief basically.”
