Gas prices hit another six-month low in New Brunswick on Thursday.

Regular self-serve is now selling for a maximum price of $1.61 per litre.

That is a drop of 7.8 cents after the weekly setting by the New Brunswick Energy and Utilities Board.

Gas prices in the province have dropped by nearly 60 cents since mid-June when they peaked at $2.19 per litre.

The price for diesel has also plummeted, down by 12.8 cents to a new maximum of just over $2.04 per litre.

Most local stations are selling both fuels for a few cents less.

Meanwhile, the most you will now pay for heating oil is just under $1.83 per litre, a drop of more than 11 cents.

Propane prices inched up by nearly two cents to a new maximum of $1.22 per litre.
