Nova Scotia RCMP Member Charged With On Duty Assault and choking

Nova Scotia’s Serious Incident Response Team completed an investigation of an RCMP member charged with assault and choking.

Back in February, The Pictou County District RCMP became aware of an on-duty offence committed by Corporal Mark Kellock. The matter was immediately referred to the Nova Scotia Serious Incident response team

On August 31st, the SiRT charged the suspect officer with assault under section 266 of the criminal code and choking under section 267 (c) of the criminal code and is scheduled to appear in Pictou Provincial Court on September 26th.

Inspector Matco Sirotic, said in a statement hat these criminal charges are shocking and we take these incidents seriously. Kellock has been an RCMP member for 29 years and is currently on administrative duties. His duty status us under review pending an internal code of conduct investigation and court process.
