The province is making funding available to support ocean and shoreline cleanup projects.
The Marine Debris Cleanup Program will cover up to 75 percent of eligible costs for shoreline projects and up to 50 percent for ocean-based ones, to a maximum $5,000 per project.
Organizations in the seafood harvesting, processing, buying, or aquaculture industries, as well as economic development organizations, community associations, and environmental groups are eligible to apply.
The province says organizations must be listed with the Registry of Joint Stocks.
Applications will be accepted until March 31st of next year. Nova Scotia has 13,000 kilometers of coastline.
